St. Petersburg will be replacing incandescent street light bulbs with LED bulbs. Recent information has come to light on the effect of the color temperature of LED lights and the color rendering index of the LEDs. An AMA study focused attention on LED bulbs and their impact on the natural cycles of the human body, and recommended street lighting have a color temperature of no greater than 3,000 Kelvin. Duke Energy is going to install 4000 Kelvin LED bulbs. A bulb with 3,200 Kelvin results in a more golden glow. Roser Park had LED lights recently installed and the light is very bright and annoying to some.
